Post-Award Requirements:
1. Recipients must complete an interim and final progress report and provide information on publications, reports of invention and external funding applications enabled by this award. Approval of the second year of funding is contingent on receipt of the interim report.
2. Swim Across America is supported by a vibrant community of donors and sponsors who enjoy and value the chance to meet and interact with our grantees. Toward that end, grantees should be aware that participation at the following events is an important part of the Kimmel Cancer Center’s relationship with the Swim Across America:
• Kickoff event to incentivize fundraising and participation
• Pool Swim at Coppermine Meadowbrook Athletic Club in Mt. Washington
• Open Water Swim (at site to be determined)
• Check Presentation Ceremony and Reception at Johns Hopkins East Baltimore Campus • Other Swim Across America promotional opportunities as scheduled
Timing: Applications are due by Sunday, November 24, 2024 at 11:59pm. Award will be announced by December 31, 2024 for funding beginning January 1, 2025.

Applications will be submitted online and will consist of:
1. Coversheet, which will be downloaded from this site.
2. A research proposal of 2 pages or less, including figures but not references (separate page).- Specific Aims
- Significance
- Background, including preliminary studies of the applicant
- Research Design, including potential impact if successful
3. A one page budget and budget justification that describes how the funding will be allocated among personnel, supplies, and equipment. Faculty salary can be included or excluded. Budgets up to $75,000 direct costs per year can be proposed. No indirect costs can be included.
4. An NIH-style biosketch (5 pages maximum) for the PI and Co-PIs (if applicable). It is not necessary to include current or pending funding information, as these will be requested Just In Time.
